  • WHY CHOOSE SILVERSIDE AUSSIES?
At Silverside Aussies, we prioritize the health of our puppies to give them the very best start in life. We're a family of dedicated, stay-at-home Aussie breeders who shower our dogs with love and care around the clock. We are here for our dogs 24/7 and dedicate our time to raising beautiful, well-rounded puppies. Every puppy gets hours of daily attention, training, and socialization, and yes, they're definitely spoiled! Each pup holds a special place in our hearts, so finding them safe and loving forever homes is crucial to us. Just because a pup goes to a new home doesn’t mean we forget about them. We think about them all the time and are so grateful whenever we hear from their new families. Each puppy's profile contains a 2-way Photo Album where buyers will often upload pictures as the puppy grows too. All of our dogs are part of our family and live in our house, not a kennel. Our little ones start in cozy whelping pens, then move to a spacious indoor nursery where they eat, play, and sleep. Once they are ready to venture outside, we will spend a few hours outside each day too. We have separate outdoor areas for each litter too where the puppies love to spend hours running around, playing with enrichment toys, and jumping in and out of their kiddie pools! We also have a beautiful farm (planning a move soon) with a pond for our dogs to swim & play with a fenced-in area for the puppies there too.
  • SCREENED FOR 270+ GENETIC HEALTH RISKS & MORE...
including 100% Breed Verification & physical traits, often tested by multiple laboratories for extra assurances. Our dogs are our family!! We raise Aussies because we are passionate about them & want to ensure the preservation of the Australian Shepherd breed by doing everything possible to ensure healthy, happy, balanced puppies from each & every pairing. We select our dogs first & foremost based on temperament. If we love their personality, confirmation, & disposition, only then will we proceed with our rigorous genetic screenings. We believe in being completely transparent with our process & our program. We have included links to all of our dog's health testing so you can read the results too. We have spent hundreds of hours reading & researching about genetic testing & we have tons & tons of knowledge we would love to share to make puppy ownership easier! We can chat as often or in-often as you'd like while your pup is on the way & we would love more than anything to keep in touch once your pup goes home too.
  • DO AUSSIES SHED? ARE THEY HYPOALLERGENIC?
They do shed. The Aussie wears a moderately thick double coat. The undercoat is shed twice yearly and shedding is moderate between these periods, although degree will vary for each dog. Regular brushing once or twice a week will help minimize shedding and keep their skin and coat healthy. Australian Shepherds are NOT hypoallergenic.
  • DOES MY PUPPY COME FULLY VACCINATED? WITH WELLNESS WARRANTY? HEALTH RECORDS? PET INSURANCE?
Yes, Yes, & YES!!!! The health & safety of our puppies is our #1 priority, and as such, we do everything we can to support your puppy & keep you informed every step of the way. We offer Lifetime Support for your puppy!! Once you choose a Silverside Puppy, you can always count on us to share our knowledge, be an ear to share your doggie concerns, & help provide training tips. We are very involved with all of our puppies and dogs. We put in a lot of time, effort and money. We fall in love with each one, and they are all very much a part of our family. With that being said it is our goal to make sure our pups are going to a home where they will be loved, cherished and spoiled, forever. Silverside Wellness Warranty: click here to view our PUPPY CONTRACT w/ Wellness Warranty. We want you to be confident that your puppy is healthy & will be with you for years to come. After researching, we found most Breeder's standards & contracts don't convey the confidence we have in our program & in the puppies we produce. Once your puppy is home, you will quickly fall in love and it is unrealistic to require that you surrender the puppy to protect your investment. We will NEVER do that. If your puppy is covered under the Extended Wellness Warranty, Silverside Aussies will reimburse you for any necessary medical care or training programs for up to 100% of the puppy's sales price or you could still choose to return the puppy for a replacement. ENS, ESI, & Weight Tracking: We track the puppies very closely during the first few weeks of life. We created a daily chart & checklist to help us manage it all. Vet Check: Each puppy will also be examined by a LICENSED VETERINARIAN around 7 weeks of age. The Vet will administer their DHPPv shots & install their Microchips. Some 3rd party transportation companies also require an additional vet appointment to obtain a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate or CVI). If required, there is an additional $250.00 fee. After pickup, you will need to schedule a series of appointments with your local vet for their additional rounds of vaccines. Vaccines & Deworming: All of our puppies will go home with a printed Vet Exam & Medical Records. We record when your puppy received dewormer & vaccinations & what products were used. The puppies are dewormed at 3, 5, & 7 weeks. Your puppy will arrive with age appropriate vaccinations and deworming & will have a minimum of 1 round of DHPP-Lepto shots during their Vet check. In order to be fully vaccinated, puppies need shots administered every 3-4 weeks for a total of 4 rounds. Their first shot is administered at 7 weeks of age, so we suggest the next shots at 10, 13, & 16 weeks of age. It is not the number of shots that count, it is the age of the puppy. Per AAHA and WSAVA guidelines, for dogs under 16 weeks of age, Distemper & Parvovirus is given as a series of shots, starting as early as 6 weeks and continuing at 2 to 4 week intervals until no less than 16 weeks of age. This could mean shots at 8/12/16 weeks on one end of the spectrum or 6/8/10/12/14/16 weeks on the other end of the spectrum. Insurance: Your puppy will come home with 30-days of complimentary insurance through TruPanion. This is an Opt-In offer which does not require any financial information unless you choose to extend your coverage past the trial period (see Trupanion Coverage Overview below)
  • DO AUSSIES MAKE GOOD FAMILY DOGS?
Yes, definitely. In general, these intelligent dogs make excellent companions to adults, children and other pets. They respond beautifully to training. They are good-natured and even-tempered; may initially be reserved with strangers yet make a very loyal companion. The Aussie is an active dog with a happy and even disposition, good-natured, seldom quarrelsome and responds with enthusiasm to the challenge and responsibility of having a job to perform. Some Aussies are very shy, apprehensive dogs. Because of this it is important to socialize your Aussie as a puppy and to expose them to as many people and situations as possible. Once your puppy has completed their puppy vaccines, we strongly recommend Puppy Classes, Doggy Day Care, taking your dog to safe dog friendly places where they are regularly exposed to different people, dogs, and situations.
  • DO YOU EVER HAVE OLDER PUPS OR RETIRED ADULTS AVAILABLE?
As far as our Silverside Aussies puppies, we have been very fortunate to not have pups available beyond 12 weeks due to our consistently long WAITLIST. HOWEVER, from time to time we have retired dogs that become available. We do not start breeding our females until they have reached maturity both physically and mentally, and have been examined by our wonderful licensed Veterinarian. We work closely with our Vet to help determine when it's time for retirement. Our dogs are our children. We LOVE them with all our hearts. Some will stay here forever, but some will need a loving home someday. We are VERY particular as to who our dogs go to. So much in fact you must be within driving distance of me (in case it doesn’t work out we will jump in my car in a moment's notice to pick up our dog). If you are interested in a retired dog please know that we will require you to personally come to our home to spend a few hours with us and the dog (or potentially vice versa). If we feel it’s not a good fit we will issue a Refund of Principle & Deposit payments IMMEDIATELY. Our dogs are VERY special and deserve to go to loving homes where they will be spoiled and shown affection daily. If we feel you and the dog would be a good fit please know that we WILL be emotional and we ask that you truly understand that we love my dogs and hope that you will stay in contact with us from time to time. Just because we are rehoming does not mean for one second that we will stop loving or thinking about them. If you are interested in adopting one of my retirees someday, please feel free to apply. & let us know you are considering an adult & we will reach out when we are considering one to rehome so you can come meet them (even several times) & make sure its a good match. We try to post our adults in advance so we can have a long time to evaluate potential placements. We try to post approximately 6 months before rehoming to give everyone time to consider. We do charge an adoption fee based on the individual dog, and do require you to sign a legal document that you will give the dog back to us should it not work out. Sometimes we offer discounts on Adult dogs to prior Silverside Aussies owners & even deeper discounts to Owners who own a puppy from that dog 😉 All adults come up to date on vaccines, groomed, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
  • DO YOU HAVE PICTURES OF YOUR PAST PUPPIES AS ADULTS?
Each puppy's website profile contains a unique 2-way photo album where most owners regularly send pup-dates for us to see. We also have 5 star REVIEWS on Google, Facebook, & GoodDog from people who have bought puppies from us & they usually contain pictures too! Buyers also post their photos on the Woof Pack, Facebook & Instagram. Many of our pups that are placed in their furever homes even have their own Instagram accounts - if you go to our Instagram profile and see who we are following you can find all of their accounts. You can follow them and all their sweet adventures. Feel free to reach out to whoever you'd like. I WOULD ALSO LOVE TO HELP YOU!! If you are having trouble deciding on a puppy because you are just not sure how these little "potatoes" turn into the stunning, fluffballs of the future, I would love to show you! I spend hours with each puppy daily & one amazing "side effect" is that I can usually identify our puppies on sight!! Just send me some pictures of puppies you love (either ours or others) & I would love to show you which puppy or upcoming litter could check those boxes for you!!! 🥰
  • AM I READY? THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN ADDING A PUPPY TO YOUR LIFE.
We know what a huge deal it is to welcome a new family member into your home! That being said, we are honored to be considered for such an important role in your life, and we want to make sure that you are educated in your decision making process. Please take time to read the following before proceeding to commit to the life of one of our beloved Australian Shepherd puppies. We want to ensure that our pups are going to their forever homes! We are always available for questions or to talk through your choices. It is important to go into pet ownership with realistic expectations. Puppies are a lot of work and require lots of time and patience! There may be sleepless nights early on from the puppy adjusting to its new life! There will be accidents on the carpet. You will need to puppy proof your home to protect your puppy & your favorite belongings. You will have to be home to let the puppy out to potty and exercise. You are going to get out of your pup what you put into them! Training, walking, socialization, play and consistency are key. These are all responsibilities you must prepare to make time for when you decide to adopt a puppy. We recommend you hire a trainer to build a firm foundation and avoid frustration and bad habits from being formed early on! At Silverside, our pups are bred to have loving, friendly, intelligent personalities and even temperaments. We are very involved with all of our puppies and dogs. We put in a lot of time, effort and money. We fall in love with each one, and they are all very much a part of our family. With that being said it is our goal to make sure our pups are going to a home where they will be loved, cherished and spoiled, forever. If you are unsure if you are ready for a dog, or do not have the time to devote to a dog, please do not apply. We want the very best for our pups and we want to set you up for success. We recognize the importance of training, and want to help you get started in the right direction. We have partnered with BAXTER & Bella & provide a 25% discount on their LIFETIME TRAINING SCHOOL ONLINE. This includes all the training resources you will ever need, leading to better animal ownership and the very best in canine companionship! Just use the code SILVERSIDE during checkout.
  • WHAT DOES LIMITED REGISTRATION MEAN?
All Silverside pups are sold with LIMITED registration. We were originally granting breeding rights up front but we had 2 or 3 people who bred the pups when they were only 11 months old (too young) without genetic testing and that is not the legacy we want for our pups. ASDR limited registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. As far as I can tell, there are no restrictions on showing your dogs with ASDR Limited Registration. AKC limited registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. Chapter 3, Section 4A of the AKC’s Rules Applying to Registration and Discipline states the following: “may be requested for a dog when application for individual registration of the dog is submitted, provided the application, together with a request for such limitation, is filed by the owner(s) of the litter at birth. No offspring of a dog for which has been granted is eligible for registration. Each registration certificate for such a dog shall carry notice of the limitation, and the limitation shall continue, regardless of any change of ownership, unless and until the owner(s) of the litter at birth shall apply to AKC for removal of the limitation.” A dog registered with an AKC Limited Registration shall be ineligible to be entered in a breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. It is eligible, however, to be entered in any other licensed or member event. These events include: Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Earthdog, Fast Cat, CAT, Scent work, Junior Showmanship, Trick Dog and CGC. REGISTRATION CONVERSION. If after Puppy’s 2nd Birthday, Owner wishes to seek Full Registration for the purposes of Breeding, Owner must submit to a series of rigorous compliances. Full Registration to Owner with Co-Ownership to Breeder is ONLY considered on a case-by-case basis & is never guaranteed. This would be approved very rarely, if ever, & only for that VERY special Puppy who can contribute to the Breed & that VERY, VERY special Person who can uphold our Breeder's Standards & Legacy as a partnership. Compliances include but are not limited to submission of medical records, health & genetic testing, and/or physical evaluations of the dog and/or Breeding Facility, etc. If approved, the parties shall negotiate & agree upon terms of a Co-Ownership Agreement & an Evaluation Fee of $1000.00 plus travel expenses will be due before commencement.
  • CAN I VISIT & MEET YOU, YOUR DOGS, & PUPPIES?
At this time, for the health and safety of our family (dogs, puppies, and people), we only extend visitation privileges during Gotcha Day or after the puppies are 8 weeks old & ready to go home. Puppies are available on a first come, first serve basis. If we have puppies that are still available at 8 weeks of age, you are more than welcome to come meet them & take home your pick immediately if you have an approved application to JOIN THE WAITLIST, including the $400 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. During your visit, if you find the puppy for you, we would complete a Puppy Contract & the purchase price must be paid in full before Transfer of Ownership. If you do not find the puppy for you, you may choose to remain on the WAITLIST or your Deposit will be Refunded IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PAY A DEPOSIT, we completely understand & actually, we appreciate your caution, but please understand we are very cautious too. We raise our puppies inside our home because we strongly believe that is both ethically the right thing to do, as well as producing the most well-adjusted puppies. The downside to this is we do not have an office or kennel outside of our home that people can visit. THEREFORE, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT WITHOUT A DEPOSIT, you must still have an approved application & we can schedule a time that works for you & us, but WE WILL NOT SEND OUR ADDRESS AHEAD OF TIME!! We will meet you at our local safety pickup/drop off point (Local Police Dept) & chat for a moment before we invite you back to our home. Luckily, modern technology has a good solution for this modern problem. We ask that you 'visit' us online on our website, via email, Facebook, GoodDog, and on Google rather than in person so that you may see our dogs and watch our puppies grow. We photograph and video our puppies regularly and post the photos to their photo albums on our website, Facebook, and Instagram pages almost daily. Our website has bios for each dog & puppy which are often updated by our new puppy owners too so you can see our puppies all grown up!! We have a Facebook group where several people send pup-dates & you are free to reach out to them. We have dozens of reviews across Google, GoodDog & Facebook. You are welcome to reach out to anyone who has posted reviews or pup-dates through our media pages. We often have potential clients say, “but I want to meet the puppy before committing to it to make sure the personality is the right fit”. We truly understand, however, we can’t accommodate the high number of requests for visitation, nor can we safely do so. We appreciate your understanding & if you are still not ok with this, then unfortunately we are not the breeders for you & we wish you the best of luck in your continued puppy search. 😊 While we understand this sentiment, the reality is that one visit is NOT realistic for a new person to really get an idea of their true personality, for a couple of reasons. First, it’s just not enough time to judge a puppy’s temperament; that would require spending time with the puppies on a regular basis to truly judge that. Secondly, there have been several long-term studies to show the temperament of an adult dog often doesn’t match that of the puppy -- their new environment heavily influences their final/adult temperament. The health and safety of the puppies and dogs is our #1 priority. Many folks don't realize there are countless things to consider as a breeder of home raised puppies. The dangers of exposing young puppies to communicable disease are very serious and can be detrimental to a breeding program and the welfare of our dogs. Visitors can (of course unknowingly) bring diseases onto the property on their feet, hands, etc. The mothers are also being protective of their 'den' (impending litter/pups) during this sensitive time. This is not a good time to assess the mother's temperament and will cause her stress and unease with the number of visitors coming and going while she is preparing for delivery or has a litter of pups. We select our dogs based on personality because companionship is the primary focus of our program. After completing all health testing, our goal is to raise well-rounded, adaptable Aussies so we are confident that whichever pup you choose will be able to fit with you seamlessly into your home. There is a very high demand for a Silverside Aussie because of our good reputation, dedication, and the above and beyond efforts we use to raise puppies in the most advantageous way possible. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to meeting you on Gotcha day or when you come to select and/or bring home your puppy!
  • DO AUSSIES NEED TRAINING?
All puppies need to be trained with consistency and love. Aussies love to be involved in family activities and do best with families that provide obedience training, socialization and exercise. Aussies are naturally reserved around strangers and need to be properly socialized early in their lives. They are also extremely loyal dogs; wanting to be by their masters' side more than anything else on the planet! Aussies are extremely smart and want nothing more than to please their owner. They can very easily be trained to do anything! One of the most common questions we receive from pet families is regarding our training recommendations and where to find ongoing training help. Considering everyone wants a calm, well-mannered and better-behaved canine companion, we actively research what is changing in the world of dog training and who does it best! • AKC OR ASDR? WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES? WHY ARE AKC PUPS PRICED HIGHER?
AKC & ASDR are different registries. ASDR is the oldest registry for Aussies but AKC is the biggest. Depending on if you planned to show your pup, you may want to choose one registry over the other for the amount of shows or the network size. Both registries track the lineage of your puppy & can provide a pedigree which is a Certificate which can even be framed. AKC also tracks Titles & Championships, OFA results, & DNA verification for ancestors as well. We have registered all of our dogs on https://www.pedigreedatabase.com/ where you can even see pictures of ancestors which were uploaded by their owners over the years. AKC limits the genetic pool because they will only register dogs who have parents that belong to AKC registry, where ASDR will register dogs from a list of different registries. ASDR has a program called hardship, where dogs with no papers can be registered as long as they appear purebred by a vet and witnesses and with pictures, which is a point of contention for the registry because they could be allowing mixed genetics. However with the use of genetic testing for dogs, you can verify your dog is purebred Aussies (which ours are). The test results for each of our dogs can be found at silversideaussies.com/aussies
  • WHAT IS ENS & ESI? WHAT IS THE BENEFIT FOR THE PUPPIES?
What is ENS? Let's start with Early Neurological Stimulation, or ENS. It was developed by the US military and known as the "Bio Sensor Program," and later referred to by the public as the "Super Dog Program." ENS is believed by some experts to enhance the natural abilities of dogs and give them a superior advantage. It involves subjecting pups aged 3-16 days to 5 forms of stimulation that lead to “stress.” It is said to benefit puppy development in 5 ways: Improved heart rate Stronger heartbeats Stronger adrenal glands Better tolerance to stress Greater resistance to disease If you are wondering what type of exercises are used, it is quite simple: Tactical stimulation-stimulate the bottom of the paw pads with a cotton swab Hold puppy's head up for 3-5 seconds Hold puppy's head gently down for 3-5 seconds Hold puppy on his back for 3-5 seconds Put puppy's belly down on a cool towel for 3-5 seconds If you would like to learn more about ENS there is a great article written by Dr. Carmen L Battaglia, who holds a Ph.D. and Masters Degree from Florida State University. WATCH A BRIEF EXPLANATION & DEMO VIDEO HERE (we are working on a custom one 😉) What is ESI? Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is done in conjunction with the ENS training. ESI is designed to enhance a puppy's ability to identify and react to specific scents. Fun Fact, the area in a dog's brain that processes data picked up by the nose is 40 times larger than in a human brain. So, we could say that a dog’s ability to smell is a function of their intellect. How ESI is done: Simple! We introduce a new scent each day starting at Day 3 & ending Day 16 of the puppy's life. We use items such as grass, bark, dirt, pine cones, fruit, herbs, leather, wood, tennis balls, essential oils, but no treats or dog food items. We watch to see if pup engages and for how long. That's it! If something this simple can improve their abilities as service or therapy dogs, we are all in!! You can read more about ESI or watch a short video at Avidog's website.
  • DO YOU DO ANY GENETIC TESTING? WHAT DOES IT MEAN? HOW WILL IT AFFECT THE PUPS?
You can buy with confidence! Genetic screening of the dam and sire for inherited diseases should be an integral part of any breeding program. Although it's extremely costly, Silverside Aussies chooses to voluntarily screen each of our dogs for inherited diseases prior to breeding because we know that screening our dogs is crucial in producing happy and healthy puppies. All of our dogs have been health tested through Embark & some double tested with AKC DNA. Silverside Aussies offers an INDUSTRY-LEADING WELLNESS WARRANTY, detailed in our Puppy Contract, which guarantees your pup is free from life-threatening congenital defects. This warranty ensures you receive either a full refund of the Puppy’s purchase price for necessary medical care or training, or an exchange puppy of equal value. Even if Silverside Aussies isn't your choice, responsible buying is crucial! ONLY BUY PUPPIES FROM TRUSTED BREEDERS WITH HEALTH TESTED DOGS & VET CHECKED PUPPIES! Your breeder should be able to READILY & EASILY provide proof of health testing (which you should be able to verify the results to from the tester directly, like the links we provide) & Buyer's reviews, even Vet references & preferably with dogs/puppies who have been vaccinated by a licensed Vet for vaccine quality assurance, which provides the puppies with Maternally-Derived Antibodies (MDAs) for disease resistance even before being vaccinated. WE CHOOSE OUR DOGS SO OUR PUPPIES WILL NEVER CARRY 2 GENES OF MDR1 or ANY OTHER GENETICALLY INHERITED CONDITION which we can prescreen our dogs for. Be sure to read through each report for detailed explanations for each gene & how it is passed to your pups. I find it all fascinating & spend hours researching new tests & conditions, so rest assured, we have thoroughly screened our dogs to give your puppy the best head start in life!! All of our dogs have GENETIC TESTING for Breed Verification, Coat & Body Traits, & Health Testing. Each of our dogs are: 💯 Australian Shepherd 100% 💟 Standard Sized (40-60 lbs & 18-21" to withers) 📜 AKC & ASDR Registered (Pups have Limited Registration) 🧬 "CLEAR" or "CARRIER" only, so pups should NEVER BE "AFFECTED" by any disease for which their parents have been tested. 🎨 Red or Red-Factored, so each pairing can product pups of EVERY COLOR 🔵 Spartan has 2 BET genes, so BLUE EYES are HIGHLY LIKELY for each puppy. 🐕 Only some litters can have NBT pups (see beside each mom below) 💌 Most of our dogs have CHAMPIONSHIPs in their lineage CLICK TO VIEW profiles for mom & dad, including genetic testing, size, registry, & details about our next litter(s) Embark also gives us access to a "Pair Predictor" which has easy-to-read results & interpretations of the parents & how it affects the puppies. VIEW EACH PLANNED LITTER TO SEE THE LITTER'S EXPECTED GENETIC RESULTS You may have noticed that on our adults page, some of the dogs are listed to be "Red Factored". In Australian Shepherds, the B-Locus determines if a black or blue dog will be able to produce red offspring. If the dog tests B/B, that dog does not have the red gene, and will never have red offspring. If the dog tests B/b, that dog does carry the red gene thus making him/her "Red Factored". Breeding to another carrier or to a red dog should produce red offspring. Dogs that are actually red will test b/b. You will also notice that Spartan & some of our females are genetically considered "Double Merle" through Embark. While this is technically true, the merle length gene in Aussies can vary greatly so we had additional testing done to determine the merle length. Spartan is considered "Cryptic Merle" which means that having such a short merle gene DOES NOT POSE ANY HEALTH CONCERNS for Spartan or his puppies!! CLICK FOR MORE INFO
  • IS IT BETTER TO GET A MALE OR FEMALE?
There is no wrong choice - either a Male or a Female will make a great pet. Through our experience with Aussies, we have not had concerns with introducing males or females to our pack. We practice calm, assertive leadership in our pack & we strongly believe that if you are committed to raising a balanced puppy, you can introduce a pup of either gender into your home. However, if you do have a dog currently that may have gender issues, the general consensus is that if you currently have a female dog in your home, a male is suggested as having two females can sometimes cause issues, especially if they both have alpha tendencies or are not spayed. If you currently have a male dog, either gender should be alright for you. As males are generally more laid back, especially, after they’ve been neutered.
  • WHAT SIZE, COAT, & EYE COLORS ARE YOUR AUSSIES? DO YOUR PUPPIES HAVE TAILS?
CLICK HERE to view profiles for each dog in our program. SIZE: All of our Aussies are STANDARD sized. They range from 40-60 lbs & 18-21 inches tall to their shoulders. TAILS: SILVERSIDE PROMOTES NATURAL PUPPIES!!! We 💗natural tails & stopped docking them in 2021. We understand that people have different preferences & to accommodate that, we have several Natural Bobbed Tail (NBT) females in our program! If either of the parents carries the NBT gene, each puppy has a 50% chance of being born with a shortened tail. We list each puppy's tail length under their bios. Docking was actually very popular & almost always done until very recently in the USA. Docking was done as a standard because Aussies are herding dogs and people believed pups had a higher chance of injury with a full tail. However, a lot of countries have already banned the docking of tails, which we love. When we were docking, I didn't find it to be traumatic but since most of our pups don't work, we find it unnecessary. All of our dogs are NBT or docked and they act no differently. DEWCLAWS: We also don't remove their front dew claws as studies show it can accelerate arthritis in the future. Dew claws are the 5th nail on the front (or back) of a dog's legs. They are higher in the legs (think of your wrist to your hand). They often use them to climb or hold things they are chewing. They are prone to injury and may have to be removed once a dog is older if an injury occurs. However our dogs who have them are all fine and we haven't had any issues at all. COAT COLORS: ALL OF OUR LITTERS can produce RAINBOW LITTERS which have Blue & Red Merle with Tan Points, Red Tri, & Black Tri pups. Spartan is considered a MINIMAL white Aussie, so the amount of white trim on our pups can vary greatly. We will often have puppies from the same litter that have white facial markings, white legs & chest, & full white collars, then we will have a puppy with only white on the tips of their toes, nose, & belly!! It is the neatest thing to see the variation in Aussies as it is part of what makes them so special (even if it increases wait times for that pictures perfect merle pup 😉) EYE COLORS: Eyes may be any combination of brown, amber, hazel, green, blue, or marbled. Some of these dogs have eyes that are two different colors or may be marbled or swirled. For example, one eye can be blue and the other eye can be split between blue and brown. Puppies usually open their eyes at around 2 weeks of age & color can usually be seen very clearly in photos or videos around 4-5 weeks of age. Eye color can change until 6 months or in some cases as late as 2 years old, although not likely. With Spartan as our sire, we have a VERY, VERY high likelihood of having 2 blue eyes. We are very fortunate that Spartan carries (2) blue eye genes, so each puppy inherits at least one copy from him. CLICK HERE to see our current percentage of blue eyes & other statistics.
  • CAN I CONNECT WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE BOUGHT YOUR PUPPIES?
We have 5 star REVIEWS on Google, Facebook, & GoodDog from people who have bought puppies from us. We also have a Facebook group where several people post updates of their puppies. Feel free to reach out to whoever you'd like. Also, if you visit each puppy's website profile, you can find their photo album & most owners regularly send pup-dates there for us to see. You are more than welcome to check those out too. We also have a owners-only facebook group that you will gain access to once you join the waitlist or pick your puppy.
  • CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS TOWARDS A FUTURE PUPPY?
Absolutely! Many folks choose to do this. You can make as many payments as you'd like in any amount to build up a credit for use towards a future pup. Once you choose your Puppy, your payments will be credited to the Total Price of that Pup. If you end up having more credit than what the Puppy is being sold for, the difference will be refunded. If you end up not picking a pup and want a refund, your Deposit (minus $50 Admin Fee) & all Payments are refundable too.
  • REFUND POLICY
We want to be fair to our buyers & prospective buyers alike. We know life can be unpredictable, so we’ve shaped our REFUND POLICY as follows. APPLICATION IS DENIED: IMMEDIATE Refund of Principle & Deposit paid minus CC Service Fees (typically 4%). JOINED WAITLIST: Refund of Principle & Deposit paid minus $50 Admin Fee within 10 days of Buyer's written request. MATCHED WITH PUPPY & CONTRACT SIGNED: Buyer cancels sale for any reason before transfer: Refund of Monies Paid minus Deposit & Tax/Fees within 10 days of Buyer's written request. Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE except if there is an issue with the health of our Puppy before transfer (see PUPPY CONTRACT). The puppy will be placed for sale to another home. If puppy is resold & after Transfer to New Owner occurs, the Breeder, in their sole discretion, may issue a refund of Deposit minus $50 Admin Fee, plus any discounts or adjustments made to the sales price based of the Puppy based on difficulty to resell only due to the Age of Puppy, & $20/day Boarding Fee for each day the puppy remains in the care of Silverside Aussies past the original anticipated Transfer date. Puppy is deemed “Unfit for Sale” before transfer: Buyer will be added to the END of the WAITLIST with Principle & Deposit paid credited towards Buyer’s chosen replacement puppy either available immediately or from a future litter OR IMMEDIATE Refund of Principle & Deposit paid with Buyer's written request. AFTER TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP: See your signed "PUPPY CONTRACT" for the specific guarantee for your puppy. We want you to be confident that your puppy is healthy & will be with you for years to come. After researching, we found most Breeder's standards & contracts don't convey the confidence we have in our program & the puppies we produce. Once your puppy is home, you will quickly fall in love and it is unrealistic to require that you surrender the puppy to protect your investment. We will NEVER do that. If your puppy is covered under the Silverside Wellness Warranty, Silverside Aussies will reimburse you for any necessary medical care or training programs for up to 100% of the puppy's sales price or you could still choose to return the puppy for a replacement. EXCEPTIONS to REFUND POLICY: If any of the following occur: Any refunds paid will never exceed the total funds paid to Silverside Aussies for the Total Purchase Price of the Buyer's chosen puppy. We do not refund for Taxes, Transportation Fees, Medical Fees, Boarding Fees, Payment Processing Fees, etc. Puppy not transferred within 7 days of the Puppy being made "READY", the Buyer will be charged $20/day Boarding Fee. If the Puppy is not to exceed 7 additional days. Owner will be issued a Refund of Principle, minus Deposit & fees. Refund to Buyer within 10 days, Deposit is FORFEIT, & Puppy will be re-sold. Breeder learns that the Buyer is not suitable for ownership of a Silverside Aussie, including but not limited to if the Buyer is found to be an animal abuser, animal broker, violent person, Pet Store or pharmaceutical laboratory representative, etc., Principle Refund to Buyer within 30 days, Deposit is FORFEIT, & Puppy will be re-sold.
  • WHY IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO HOLD A PUPPY?
Getting a new puppy is a big commitment - financially and emotionally. It is not something you should do on the fly, and you should not commit to a puppy until you have done all your research. We are serious breeders, and I only want to work with serious buyers who can make the commitment to us, our program, and one of our future puppies. Deposits from people who are just "shopping" from different breeders or who are not entirely committed to adopting a puppy from us can significantly increase the number of people on our reservation list. This can give a false estimate for serious buyers about when they can expect to take a puppy, and this can prevent truly committed families from reserving one of our puppies. Like yours, our time is valuable to us. So, we ask that you please only apply and place a deposit if you are committed to a puppy, and specifically a puppy from our program. In the rare chance that we have "AVAILABLE" PUPS that are ready to go to their new homes immediately, you are more than welcome to COME MEET THE PUPS & take home your pick as long as you have an APPROVED APPLICATION. During your visit, we would complete a PUPPY CONTRACT & the Payment in FULL. We have a very generous Refund Policy & lots & lots of reviews from people who would be glad to chat with you about us. We want you to be comfortable & confident in your decision to purchase a SILVERSIDE AUSSIES.

  • WHERE IS SILVERSIDE AUSSIES LOCATED?
We are located in South Hill, Virginia, USA – with Richmond VA & Raleigh, NC both being around a 1.5 hour drive. Our closest airports are RDU and RIC. We are constantly working to expand our network of trusted puppy transport providers. At this time we are unable to offer personal transportation services, but we have worked with several companies & would love to recommend them to you. We also have had success with citizenshipper.com & they have great guarantees so that is another option available. REACH OUT TODAY so we can work together to bring your Silverside Aussie home! ❣️
  • WHAT ARE MY PICKUP/TRANSPORT/DELIVERY OPTIONS?
We currently do not offer any transportation options. We do occasionally have to travel near pickup dates and will try to meet families along the way if possible, but this does not happen often as we always have dogs & usually younger puppies so we can't leave for more than a few hours. If you are unable to pick up your puppy in person, you are more than welcome to arrange 3rd party transportation. You will be responsible for all transportation costs & medical expenses related to travel & the Total Price of your puppy must be paid in full before being released from the care of Silverside Aussies. Some transportation companies require a Health Certification (CVI) from a licensed veterinarian which requires an additional vet visit. This cost of the CVI is currently around $250 (price subject to change). We have found a transport company that we used personally & we would love to recommend her to you. She was quick, caring, and had very reasonable rates.
  • HOW DO I ADOPT ONE OF YOUR AUSSIE PUPS? HOW LONG ARE TIMES?
We are very fortunate to keep a consistently long waitlist. In most cases, you can expect to wait 2-6 months for a puppy from us, unless we have puppies available. Expect to wait on the longer side for a Merle (2-6 months) and the shorter side for a Tri (0-3 months). In a nutshell, there are 4 steps: Submit your APPLICATION for approval Pay $400 REFUNDABLE Deposit to JOIN THE WAITLIST & wait for your turn to pickup a Puppy Once you see the Puppy for you, reserve an AVAILABLE PUPPY & your Deposit is applied to the balance & becomes non-refundable Complete a Puppy Contract then the best part..... get ready for Gotcha Day & schedule Puppy Pickup in South Hill, VA In much more detail: 1. SUBMIT APPLICATION: The first step is to APPLY HERE so we can gauge your interest, determine what you want in your new best FURiend, & make sure you & Silverside Aussies are a good fit together! We typically reply within 24 hours with either your approval or refusal. Remember, sending an inquiry does not guarantee that you will be approved or commit you to anything just yet. It’s only the first step to initiate a conversation with us. We want to make sure our program is a good fit for your family and that we can do a great job getting you the right dog. It helps to make sure we are both a good fit for each other. We reserve the right to deny anyone at any time if we feel they’re not the right fit for one of our puppies. 2. PAY DEPOSIT: Your Deposit is REFUNDABLE until you choose your PUPPY, so feel free to send that in as soon you are ready. Because everyone in our program picks based on the order of their deposit, families often join the WAITLIST as soon as they are committed to wanting a puppy from our program, no matter how far off in the future that may be. As other people choose their puppies, you will rise to the top of the pick order for when you are ready. Disclaimer: All puppies are considered available until payment has been received. If you're hoping to reserve a puppy that's currently listed as available, it's always possible that someone else may be inquiring about the same pup. Please keep in mind that we do not hold puppies, therefore you should be ready to move forward & pay the deposit upon approval. You are more than welcome to prepay your deposit to HOLD YOUR PLACE IN LINE, as we will not accept your payment unless we think you would be a good fit for a SILVERSIDE AUSSIE!!! 😁 3. THE WAITLIST & THE WAIT: (skip to #4 if seeking AVAILABLE PUPPY) Yay!!! You've paid the $400 deposit & are on the WAITLIST!! By placing your deposit now, you've secured the earliest possible date and spot in line for whenever you are ready to actually pick and bring your adorable puppy home. You ALWAYS have control to change your choices AT ANY TIME. but now for the hardest part of the whole process.... THE WAIT, but we promise our pups are worth it! We often get asked, “How long is the wait?” Because we are at Mother Nature’s mercy, we cannot control things like heat cycles, pregnancies, numbers of pups born, coat & eye colors. These factors all play a part in which families will be interested in any given litter. Keep in mind that each family has an idea of what they’re looking for in their future companion, just as you do. For that reason, our waitlist is ever changing. We offer each family the flexibility to remain on the waitlist for as long as they need to find their perfect puppy. Nobody is locked into a specific litter or their application puppy preferences. Families that are ahead of you on rank may pass on a current litter and choose to wait for a future litter. In most cases, you can expect to wait 2-6 months for a puppy from us, unless we have puppies available. Expect to wait on the longer side for a Merle (3-4 months) and the shorter side for a Tri (0-3 months). CURRENTLY, we use 2 option to organize the WAITLIST & give everyone the most accurate wait-times possible: (1) The SEEKERS: This list is for the active folks that are interested in bringing home a puppy as soon as possible. Although we can’t guarantee exactly when that will be, they are ready as soon as their perfect pup becomes available to them. (2) The DREAMERS: This list is for the folks that definitely want to bring home one of our magical puppies, but they’re just not sure when the right time will be - which could be 6 months, a year, or even two years - there is no cut off time. Because everyone in our program picks based on when they placed their deposit, it is not uncommon for families to choose to place a deposit long before they are ready for their puppy, or their second or third puppy. Dreamers can become Seekers at any time. So, if your situation changes, edit your PICK or PASS survey or you reach out to me. WHEN A LITTER IS BORN (DAY 1 or 2): We will send emails announcing the Puppy's Birthday & a link to submit your 🐶 PICK or PASS✖️ You will receive access to each litter's medical records so you can track their growth, ENS & ESI progress, pup-dates, vet visits, & photo albums too! We will post puppy profiles & photo albums to our website as well! We hope to send updated videos on DAY 7 & again on DAY 13. That email will also include ON DAY 14 @ 12PM EST: The 🐶 PICK or PASS✖️ will close & we will confirm your choices!! If you PASS or don’t get to pick the pup you had hoped you may either choose another puppy or choose to remain on the WAITLIST, either as a Seeker or Dreamer, whichever you prefer. 4. PICK YOUR PUPPY!!: Once you choose your dream puppy, we will confirm their availability & send your contract for you to review & sign. The contract has what you can expect from us as your Breeder & what we expect from you as a Buyer, as well as the final steps to bring your puppy home, how to activate the complimentary puppy insurance, and our industry-leading Wellness Warranty which includes 100% Reimbursement or Replacement should the unexpected happen. Silverside Wellness Warranty: click here to view our PUPPY CONTRACT w/ Wellness Warranty. We want you to be confident that your puppy is healthy & will be with you for years to come. After researching, we found most Breeder's standards & contracts don't convey the confidence we have in our program & the puppies we produce. Once your puppy is home, you will quickly fall in love and it is unrealistic to require that you surrender the puppy to protect your investment. We will NEVER do that. If your puppy is covered under the Extended Wellness Warranty, Silverside Aussies will reimburse you for any necessary medical care or training programs for up to 100% of the puppy's sales price or you could still choose to return the puppy for a replacement. STILL HAVE QUESTIONS? Just about any question you can think of can be answered on our FAQ page. It covers more about our program, pricing, how puppy picking works, "Gotcha" Day, etc. If you find you still have questions, using the CHAT button is the fastest way to reach us, but you can email (silversideaussies@gmail.com) or text (434.414.1144) & we usually respond within a few hours. • HOW DOES THE DEPOSIT WORK?
PUPPY DEPOSITS ARE $400.00 should you wish to JOIN THE WAITLIST or RESERVE AVAILABLE PUP. Deposits are deducted from the Total Price of the puppy you choose. Silverside Aussies prices pups very fairly for our area & especially well considering all of the testing & time we devote to each litter. Our tri-colored pups are priced starting from $1500.00 & our Merle pups are starting at $2000.00. FINAL PAYMENTs are due on "Gotcha" Day. (see "Payments"). PREPAYING IMMEDIATELY HOLDS THE NEXT SPOT ON THE WAITLIST while we review your application & give you access to our Owners-Only SILVERSIDE WOOF PACK on Facebook. (see "WAITLIST") The date you pay the deposit determines your position in line. Everyone joins the END OF THE WAITLIST, no exceptions. Your position will advance as other's choose pups. (see "How does the WAITLIST work?") If the puppy you chose is UNAVAILABLE, you will immediately be added to the end of the WAITLIST for another available or future pup, but you may request a Refund. (see "Refund Policy")
  • HOW MANY LITTERS/PUPPIES DO THE MOMS HAVE (ON AVERAGE)?
Our girls have 4 to 5 litters during their lives & our average currently is 8-9 pups per litter. See our home page for the most recent statistics! After much research & talking with several vets, we agree that it's safer for moms to have their puppies in subsequent heats & to retire after 5-6 litters. Our preference is 5 litters at the very most, depending on how their pregnancies progress & how well each mom recovers after weaning. On average, each of our girls go into heat every 5 to 7 months. So on average, they are bred twice per year depending on their cycles. We have also found that several of our girl come into heat during the same time period, so we often have 2 litters available & we won't have pups for a couple of months in between.
  • WHEN CAN I TAKE MY PUPPY HOME?
In the state of Virginia, where our puppies are raised, puppies must be over 8 weeks old before they are allowed to be transported for sale without their Dam. Puppies need to stay with their littermates & their Moms until they are fully weaned and eating on their own & have good social skills which are developed primarily with their mom & littermates from 6-8 weeks of age. If you're picking your pup up in person or using a transport service, your pup can leave starting at 8 weeks old, as long as we feel they're ready. We can hold your puppy until 9 weeks of age for no additional fees. We can hold puppies until 10 weeks of age. However, you will be assessed a boarding fee of $20 per day starting at 9 weeks of age, as we will begin crate, house, & basic obedience training with your puppy & keep your pup up-to-date on shots & dewormer. All puppies must be picked up by 10 weeks of age, if you cannot plan to pickup by then, please pass on the litter. If we still have pups available when you are ready for pickup, you can reserve that puppy immediately & we will allow 7 days for pickup then.
  • WHY IS MY PUPPY SUDDENLY AFRAID?
Puppies go through an important socialization period from approximately three weeks of age to 12–14 weeks. This is a critical time in puppy development and it’s important for them to be safely and intentionally exposed to new textures underfoot, new sights, scents, and sounds, as well as meeting new people, dogs, and other animals. This critical period of early socialization starts with us at Silverside and then continues with you! Well-socialized puppies are generally playful and confident, so it can take people by surprise when these same puppies become spooked or fearful seemingly overnight—welcome to your puppy’s first fear period! What Are Puppy Fear Periods? Fear periods are a normal part of puppy development, but they also can be overwhelming for dogs. During fear periods, puppies become more sensitive and aware of the world around them. They may be more concerned about new objects or experiences, and even things that they previously might have enjoyed can become worrisome. Your puppy will experience two fear periods, both of which are a normal evolutionary part of puppy development. No amount of socialization can prevent them, but the good thing is you can help your puppy to work through them and come out the other side more confident Fear Period #1: 8–11 Weeks Puppies will generally experience their first fear period around 8–11 weeks. Coincidentally, this fear period happens right around the time they are coming home and adjusting to a new family, and starting to explore the world. Recognizing that puppies are very impressionable, you want to be thoughtful about what your puppy experiences during this critical time. It’s essential to not overwhelm a new puppy and instead to create situations where they can explore meeting new people and having new experiences without being pressured or forced to interact. Fear Period #2: 6–14 Months This second period often takes new puppy owners by surprise. Small breed dogs tend to experience their second fear periods earlier than large breed and giant breed puppies. This second fear period can be especially disorienting for owners because your 6-14-month-old may look like an adult dog, so it can be hard to remember that your dog is still a puppy and emotionally developing. It can feel like everything you taught your puppy has fallen apart. The confident, engaged, and smart puppy you had just a day ago is now insecure and worried about a harmless object. Don’t worry—this isn’t forever! Training Through Fear Periods Dogs who experience stress or trauma at this age can experience larger, related behavioral problems or consequences later in life, so it’s important to be sensitive to training needs during this time. For example, my youngest dog went through a big second fear period when she was about 10 months old, which coincided with a minor knee injury that necessitated multiple visits to vets and vet specialists. As a result, we still work on helping her remember the vet office is a fun, safe place to go. Fear periods are often misunderstood as puppies being defiant or difficult, when they’re actually just being uncertain or worried about things in the world around them. Even confident and well-socialized puppies go through a phase of being concerned about something that might seem silly to us. Just because we know that the vacuum cleaner turning on, a plastic bag blowing in the wind, or a wobble board at training class isn’t something dangerous, your puppy doesn’t have the same understanding of the world. Fear periods are a developmentally normal part of growing up for dogs and something for us to be thoughtful and intentional about preparing for. If your puppy suddenly develops a fear about someone or something, it can be tempting to try and force your dog to get closer and see that it isn’t scary. But this approach is far more likely to backfire and create a bigger and possibly long-lasting fear. Instead of forcing your puppy to engage in things that scare them, give them the space to explore and choose to engage at their comfort level. Try to turn the scary situation into a positive learning opportunity. Step-by-step: Step 1: Allow your puppy to move away from whatever they are scared of. Step 2: Praise and reward your puppy for looking to you for guidance, and for looking at the object that scared them. Step 3: Allow your puppy to control how close they get to what scared them, and don’t pressure or lure them to get closer. Praise and reward with treats or toys as well as for any positive curiosity or interaction including looking at the object, stepping towards it, sniffing, etc. Step 4: Keep the training session short and fun. It’s okay if your puppy doesn’t overcome the fear and get completely comfortable with the object that frightened them. End on a positive note with lots of treating/praising. Step 5: Try not to make a big deal about the thing your dog is afraid of, but incorporate it into future training sessions. Reward your puppy for looking at you, and any engagement with the thing they are scared of. If possible, engage your puppy with a toy. Let the puppy control the pace and stay at a distance they are comfortable with. Don’t Panic! Fear periods can take everyone by surprise but try not to panic. It can be helpful to keep a list of things your puppy is nervous about and try to incorporate those into future training sessions. You might be surprised to discover that the balloon that terrified your puppy yesterday might not faze them tomorrow. Try to remember this is a normal stage of development and, although it can be tempting to want to quickly show your puppy there’s nothing to be scared of, there are no shortcuts through a fear period. Your puppy is taking in an overwhelming amount of information about the world and is looking to us for reassurance and guidance. It should be our training goal whenever possible to make those experiences safe, fun, and positive. • HOW DO I CALM MY CRYING OR WHINING PUPPY?
The first night at home puppy is likely to cry, whine or even bark during the night. This is because, for his first two months of life, his nights were spent snuggling into his mother and siblings and feeling warm, comfortable, and safe in their presence. Moving away from them to a new and unfamiliar environment is a huge change for him, and at night especially, he will feel lonely and will probably demonstrate this with whines and cries. These are a few things that you can do that can help your puppy settle in and feel at home as soon as possible, which may help to reduce a stress-induced behavior problem such as crying or whining: Ensure your puppy is tired before going to bed at night. A tired puppy will settle more easily. Have him sleep in a small crate or his own cozy bed next to your bed, or somewhere close enough that he can sense you and doesn’t feel isolated. Make sure his sleeping place is warm, comfortable and free of draughts. Give him some cozy, soft bedding and a stuffed dog toy to snuggle with. He is used to being surrounded by the warm bodies of his mum and siblings while he sleeps. Your puppy will come home with a blanket that smell like their mom, place it in his bed or crate. If not, place one of your old T-shirts or other soft item that smells of you in his bed. This will help prevent him from being overwhelmed by too many strange, new smells. Place a ticking clock under his bedding. This will sound like his mum’s heartbeat and give him some comfort. Consider purchasing a SmartPetLove Snuggle Puppy toy. With a pulsing heartbeat and disposable heat pack, this toy may provide comfort and relieve anxiety and related behaviors such as whining and crying. AdaptilCalm is a synthetic pheromone that may have a comforting effect on some dogs. You can try spraying this product on the puppy’s bed 10 minutes before sleep time to help him feel calmer and more relaxed. Sometimes music can help. Classical music has been shown to help settle dogs and there are plenty of dog-calming playlists on Spotify to choose from. If he cries or become unsettled during the night, we recommend that you put your hand on the crate or pen, talk softly to him and wait until he settles. Don’t take him out of the crate or pen while you are settling him back to sleep unless he needs to toilet.

CLICK HERE TO SCHEDULE YOUR GOTCHA DAY!!!! Check your Puppy Confirmation email to find the Password. We expect Puppy to be Ready when at 56 days old (8 weeks) & anticipate that to be the day that Gotcha Week begins!! You can schedule any time for your Puppy Pickup to be within 7 days once Puppy is Ready or you may request a one-time Transfer Extension of up to 7 additional days for a Boarding Fee of $20.00/day. We are open for pickup 7 days/week, 12-6pm EST. Unfortunately, we are not able to be available for pickups any earlier during the day. It takes us a while to get our kids, dogs, & pups up, fed, & ready for the day & then we have to make time to groom the pups who are going home too! We have attempted to be done earlier, but even try as hard as we can, we have never been successful 😅 If you need an exemption or special accommodations for Puppy Pickup, please let us know! We will try our very best to pivot where we can when we are able.
  • SILVERSIDE AUSSIE PARENTING TIPS!!
Although there are similarities between puppies & babies, please remember that your dog is not a person in a fur coat. They do not speak our language & aren’t very verbal. However, they are fluent in body language, so communicate with facial expressions & handling, as well as your voice. Don't forget that www.silversideaussies.com/info has lots of training tips as well!! 🙂 TIP #1: PUPPY SPACE In your home create a designated puppy area. It’s a room that is fairly easy to puppy-proof and has a door to outside that would always be in his sight to help with house training. Remember, giving your puppy too much space puts him further away from his or her “potty place,” which increases the likelihood he has an accident where he’s not supposed to. You can create a puppy room or space anywhere in your home, I think it just helps to do-so close by to an exterior door. TIP #2: POTTY PLACE We recommend a “potty place” that is right outside the puppy room, so your puppy doesn't have to travel far outside of the home. A designated outdoor area should be used as the “potty”, so the pup will understand what is expected when they’re there. You can even teach to eliminate on command. Pups need to go out when they come out of the crate, after eating/drinking, after playing hard & after naps. TIP #3: HOUSETRAINING Our #1 suggestion is to help with house training is crate training!!! Being confined motivates the pup to ask to go out. At 8 to 10 weeks, your pup should be able to stay in their crate for about 4 to 6 hours from the time they last used the potty until going back outside. This is useful for the mature dog as well, especially if you travel with your dog or plan to show. A crate trained dog does not experience cage stress when boarding or hospitalized, since they are already used to being in their “room”. TIP #4: CRATE SUGGESTION Make their crate inviting. A puppy’s crate is supposed to be his safe place and his natural instincts should prevent them from having accidents in it. We recommend a crate that offers room to turn around, but not enough room to play. Too much extra space in the crate may cause puppies to go potty on one side and sleep on the other. The crate should only be big enough for relaxing – not relaxing AND potty. We recommend a crate at least 2ft wide x 3ft long x 2ft high or larger, if you plan on using the crate into adulthood. Usually large crates come with a divider to make smaller areas for your puppy to help with potty training. While single door crates work great, we have found that 2 doors make it easier to reposition throughout the house as needed. TIP #5: TOYS Toys should be solid, of non-shreddable materials, & large enough so your pup can’t possibly swallow one. Always leave a toy in the crate with your pup. One of the best toys is a “Kong” or “Tuffy”. It comes in various sizes & is made of hard rubber in a bell shape. You can stuff the “Kong” with various sizes & shapes of treats &/or kibble. Getting treats from the toy will distract them from your departure & gives them something to do while you are gone (hopefully instead of barking, chewing, wetting, etc.) TIP #6: STICK TO A SCHEDULE Starting on the first night set alarms to wake up every 4 hours to take your puppy outside. We chose this method because we wanted them to understand that night time is for sleeping & going potty – not playing. Follow the 4 hour approach for about five days then increased to 6 hours. After about another five days we increased to 8 hours. We also recommend keeping a food, drink, sleep and potty journal. This is great parenting practice! TIP #7: PUPPY PARENTING Be patient. Bringing home a puppy can be stressful and exhausting. The first few weeks are especially difficult but rewarding. The calmer you are, the calmer your puppy will be too. WE ARE ALWAYS HERE FOR QUESTIONS!! Please reach out at any time. Our goal is to provide you & your puppy with lifetime support so that our pups find forever homes the first time, every time.
  • 5. ON GOTCHA DAY
AHHHHH!!!! They day we have all been waiting for is finally here! Here is our guide to making Gotcha Day easy breezy for all of us & our Puppy too!!! WHAT'S THE ADDRESS FOR GOTCHA DAY? When you start out on "Gotcha" day, set your GPS to SOUTH HILL, VA 23970. We host Gotcha Day at our home, which is of course where our puppies & dogs live too. This allows us to create a safe space for you to meet the your puppy, their parents, & maybe even some littermates! We are super protective of our puppies so for their safety & ours, we do not share our address prior to "Gotcha" day (see "Can I Visit?" for details). We hope you understand our concerns & appreciate our vigilance over your new puppy!! ABOUT 1 HOUR BEFORE ARRIVAL, please TEXT/CALL 434-414-1144 or EMAIL silversideaussies@gmail.com & one of us will send our address ASAP. We are always checking our phones on Gotcha Day so at the most it should only be a few minutes if we are in the middle of a puppy bath. 😁 When you get here, you will be able to meet your Puppy's parents & then we will go over Puppy's medical charts, vet exam, registration & insurance paperwork, & a copy of your SILVERSIDE AUSSIES PUPPY CONTRACT, & lastly, we will complete your Final payment. We accept CASH (preferred) or CARD (processing fees apply). All funds must clear before Puppy will be Transferred. WHAT WILL MY PUP COME WITH? We know traveling with a puppy can be difficult & we want you to enjoy your first moments with your new furiend, so we pack a V.I.P.uppy Bag for each puppy which includes: Collar & Leash, which should fit until ~20 weeks Travel bowl & a bottle of water Disposable waste bags & pee pad 2 Toys & Lots of Treats Blanket that smells like mom AKC Registration Application & AKC Insurance offer ASDR Registration Application Copy of Vet Exam & Medical Papers If you plan to switch foods, we will provide a sample of Purina Pro Plan Puppy Sensitive Salmon & Rice ACTIVATE INSURANCE UP TO 24-HRS BEFORE "GOTCHA" DAY. SEE OFFER BELOW!! That way your puppy is covered on the ride home too!! You must activate the TRUPANION policy within 24 hours after transfer or the offer will expire. This is an "Opt-In" offer, which means you do not need to provide financial information unless you choose to extend beyond the trial period. TRAVEL TIPS Puppies may become car sick during the first few rides in a car. We do not feed puppies on Gotcha day so you will hopefully have an easy ride home, but accidents can happen. We recommend bringing another person along to hold your new puppy or use a dog carrier. Have your passenger frequently, but slowly, rub the puppy and talk to them in a soft voice. This proves effective most of the time to relaxing puppy. Bring a roll of paper towels, blanket or towel, and wet wipes along just in case your puppy does get sick. If your puppy does have motion sickness, make short trips (around the block) until he/she gets used to it. We would suggest you try to go straight home without stopping or consider ways to keep your puppy "Paws Off Ground" during travel (a large storage tote with pee pads so your puppy has a easy-to-clean place to potty that keeps them secure is a great idea!) If you absolutely must stop, try to find a concrete pad or small grassy area that is not frequented by dogs!!! NO REST AREAS OR DOG PARKS OR PET STORES!! Even though your puppy will be up to date on vaccinations they are still susceptible to diseases, including parvo. It is important to prevent exposure to areas of potential contact until 2 weeks after the Puppy’s final booster shot at 16+ Weeks old. Areas of potential contact include: vet clinic floors, contact with unvaccinated dogs or puppies, areas where dogs are walked, dog parks, pet stores, parking lots, & near the feces of other dogs. ONCE YOU GET HOME Take Puppy to their potty spot immediately to create a positive first experience at home. Let your Puppy know they did a good job 😉then head to their Puppy area. WATER: Water can taste different in different cities or neighborhoods. Your puppy may choose to not eat or drink anything for the first day. This is normal. To prepare, we gave them a Nutritional Gel (great for sick dogs & readily available) to help get them off to a great start. Just a small amount contains enough nutrition to hold them over for a whole day while they adjust. FOOD: The puppies are eating Purina Pro Plan Puppy Sensitive Salmon & Rice & is eating around 1.5 -2 cups of food per day, divided into 3 meals, but now should be a good time to transition to 2 meals. If you notice early that your puppy’s appetite has decreased, there are some food items usually found in the home that may be used to entice the puppy. Cheese (all types), rice (white or brown), boiled chicken, plain or vanilla yogurt, cottage cheese, cheerios, baby food (chicken), cooked egg (scrambled or boiled), peanut butter. Please contact your local vet and us if their appetite does not resume to normal after 36 hours. Purina recommends: "After weaning, Pro Plan can be fed moistened or dry. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. You can gradually reduce to one feeding in the morning and one in the evening as your puppy ages. The routine should not vary. As puppies near adulthood, their calorie needs may drop, and your puppy may begin leaving food in the bowl. Don’t misinterpret this as an indication of dislike for the food. Instead, begin offering less so your puppy doesn’t overeat and stays in ideal body condition. Nestlé Purina Research indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. Maintaining ideal body condition is key to encouraging proper growth in all puppies, especially large breeds. The indicated amounts are only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight, a reduction of your puppy’s daily food intake may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program.

  • HOW DO I STOP MY PUPPY FROM BITING?
It is completely normal for your puppy to teethe and necessary for development. If your puppy bites you while playing, that means playtime is over, with no exceptions. “Yelp!” to let your pup know that hurt! Then, gently place them in their crate. Keep a puppy chew toy nearby and substitute the toy for the item they’re chewing on. It’s very important to make sure that they don’t associate the crate with punishment. Once they calm down, you can let them out. Keep water and food close to their crate which should be close to the door. Keep treats on you to reward the behaviors you want to see out of your puppy. Consistency is key!
  • WHEN SHOULD I SPAY OR NEUTER MY PUPPY?
There is unfortunately lots of information & misinformation about dog health in general. It was widely believed before that as a blanket rule, pets should be altered early in life. However as more research has developed, we have learned that letting your Puppy grow through sexual maturity is best for their growth & development. We believe that if you can effectively & safely prevent pregnancy for your Puppy, then you should wait until your Puppy reaches sexual maturity (18-24+months of age) before surgery. Why Wait To Spay/Neuter? Every dog owner wants their puppy to grow up as healthy and as physically sound as possible. We want our dog to live a long, pain free life. A key factor in accomplishing the goal of a structurally sound dog is waiting to spay or neuter until after skeletal growth is complete. Why Wait – The number one reason for waiting to alter your dog is to give their body the needed time to develop to full maturity. A dog’s skeletal system is not fully developed or done growing until 18-24 months of age. It is in the 12-24 month period when a dogs growth plates close. It is a dogs hormones that control growth and also stop growth. The Benefits - By waiting to spay or neuter, you allow your dogs bones and joints to develop properly. This results in a structurally sound dog that is built to last. You also allow your dog to grow properly into its breed intended form. Muscle development also occurs during the 12-18 month period. When your dogs natural hormones are in place you will see your dogs cheek muscles fill in, the chest broaden and drop, the neck, shoulder and thigh muscles thicken. "Growth plates won’t close until at LEAST 18 months. I know a lot of you don’t want to deal with humping, marking, bloody heat cycles. But it really is for the betterment of the dog.“ “If you were to do a hysterectomy on an 8 year old girl or take away a 10 year old boys testicles, how would that affect them? It is the same concept here. Each of you is a responsible pet owner, that’s why you’ve been granted a puppy from us. Responsibly, there is no reason for early spay/neuter.” The Consequences Of Early Spay/Neuter – The first thing you will notice about a dog that has been sterilized too early is that they look too tall and lanky. For many breeds this is not the intended outcome and results in a dog that looks nothing like their Sire and Dam. They never physically mature. They often over grow their breed standard and become too tall and too long. When this happens the rear legs of the dog become too straight, making the natural cushioning of the knee joint non-existent. This side effect eventually results in cruciate ligament tears and hip dysplasia. To break this down to the most simple terms – When hormones are removed too early, a dogs joint and muscle development are severely altered and proper conformation suffers, leading to abnormalities and a dog that is prone to injuries. “These are littermates – one was neutered pediatrically, the other left intact. Notice the permanent puppy-like body of the dog on the left. His head is narrow, his chest is narrow, his angulation is bad, he’s taller than he is long because growth plates don’t get the proper signals from testosterone or estrogen on when to close.” “This is what pediatric neuter does to your dog. It leaves them more susceptible to an incredible amount of health issues (joint issues, multiple types of cancer). Meanwhile, the only fact in favor of early neutering is to prevent unwanted litters which can be prevented by not letting your dog roam – something we should already be on top of as responsible dog owners.” “Dogs need hormones to grow and mature properly. Do your dog a favor and wait until he’s completely matured before neutering!” If you would like to know more of the science and facts behind this issue, please see the weblink article below. Early Neutering In Dogs: Risks & Benefits
  • 3. SCHEDULE VET EXAM; VACCINES & RECOMMENDED MEDICAL CARE
These are the bare minimum of medical necessities for keeping your puppy healthy. It is best to schedule a vet appointment as soon as you reserve your pup, as most vets are pretty booked up for non-emergency visits. TO ACTIVATE THE EXTENDED WELLNESS WARRANTY, Puppy must be examined by a Licensed Vet within 10 days following Transfer. Communicable Disease & Parvo Preventative Care. Your puppy has been vaccinated & every measure has been taken to protect the puppy. However, until fully vaccinated, the puppy may still contract some diseases, including parvo & you should prevent exposure to areas of potential contact until 2 weeks after the Puppy’s 4th booster shot. Areas of potential contact include: vet clinic floors, contact with unvaccinated dogs or puppies, areas where dogs are walked, dog parks, pet stores, parking lots, & near the feces of other dogs. MDR1 SAFETY: MDR1 is "Multi-Drug Resistance." What this means is if a dog is "affected" or carries 2 genes, your dog will have an allergy to certain medications, usually flea and tick medication. It is most common among herding dogs. WE CHOOSE OUR DOGS SO OUR PUPPIES WILL NEVER CARRY 2 GENES OF MDR1 or OTHER GENETICALLY INHERITED CONDITION which we can prescreen our dogs for. Since some of our moms are carriers (1 gene) each pup has a 50% chance of being clear or only carrying one gene. If they are carriers, they should be fine without the "safe" meds, however we always choose safe meds, even for our non-carriers. The difference is as small as Pet Armor (not safe) & Pet Armor+(safe) and usually they are the same price. WE ALWAYS USE MDR1 SAFE DRUGS!!! For more info visit: https://embarkvet.com/products/dog-health/health-conditions/mdr1-drug-sensitivity/ VACCINES: Many people choose to schedule their vet visit to coincide with your puppy's vaccination schedule. Puppy shots are recommended every 2-4 weeks until Puppy's final shot be given at no less than 16 weeks of age. Our Vet will administer their first vaccine at 7 weeks of age during their Wellness Exam Once your Pup is home, they should be seen by a Vet of your choosing within 10 days & although vaccines aren't always necessary at this age, your exam should include a Fecal Exam & any abnormal results can be reported to us & a request for reimbursement can be filed at www.silversideaussies.com/claim The next shots should be administered at 10-11 weeks, 13-14 weeks, & 16-17 weeks. Your puppy should also receive a Rabies vaccine at their 16 week appointment. Talk with your Veterinarian about heartworm, flea, & tick medications & which products are safe & work for your schedule. Scroll down to see our schedule & recommendations. ALWAYS USE MDR1 SAFE MEDS!!! See the "Puppy Packet" for medications given to your pup. It is not the number of shots that count, it is the age of the puppy. Per AAHA and WSAVA guidelines, for dogs under 16 weeks of age, Distemper/Parvovirus is given as a series of shots, starting as early as 6 weeks and continuing at 2 to 4 week intervals until no less than 16 weeks of age. This could mean shots at 8/12/16 weeks on one end of the spectrum or 6/8/10/12/14/16 weeks on the other end of the spectrum. Puppies get Maternally Derived Antibodies (MDA's) from their mother. MDA's interfere with the protection gained from vaccinating a puppy. Most puppies will have their MDA levels low enough between 8 and 12 weeks for vaccines to be effective. However, a small number of puppies have been shown to still have MDA levels that interfere with the vaccinations up to 15 weeks of age. Hence, why the recommendation for finishing is 16 weeks of age or later. Vets in higher risk environments (e.g. shelters or locales where outbreaks are occurring) may choose the 2 week interval and thus more shots to mitigate the risk/length of time in which the puppy is unprotected due to maternal antibody interference. Vets in lower risk environments will more frequently do a 3 or 4 week interval. Regardless of interval, it is recommend that the final shot be given at no less than 16 weeks of age. World Small Animal Veterinary Association guidelines: https://wsava.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/WSAVA-Vaccination-Guidelines-2015.pdf American Animal Hospital Association guidelines: https://www.aaha.org/globalassets/02-guidelines/canine-vaccination/vaccination_recommendation_for_general_practice_table.pdf HEARTWORM PREVENTION: Heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes. You should start your Puppy on Heartworm Medication ASAP, our preference is Simparica Trio. Puppies over 6 months old should be blood tested prior to being given preventative medication. Once given, the preventative should be given on a monthly basis. Puppies less than 6 months of age cannot be adequately tested due to the lifecycle of the heartworm. However, they should be given preventative medication from 8 weeks of age & then blood tested sometime between 6 months & 1 year of age. DEWORMER: A fecal sample should be conducted at 8 weeks of age to check for intestinal parasites. Most puppies are born with intestinal parasites (roundworm & hookworm) & can acquire other worms (whipworm) from the environment or from fleas (tapeworm). FLEA & TICK: Fleas are the number one reason for an itchy dog. Once a month, topical flea/tick preventatives can & should be used on puppies from 8 weeks of age. Even though your pup may be genetically clear, please be familiar with the MDR1 gene in Aussies. We have chosen Pet Armor PLUS or our dogs. This is a topical oil that we apply to our dogs monthly. The PLUS is a different ingredient from the regular Pet Armor and is shown to be safer & gentler for dogs that may be at risk for MDR1. It is also safe for pregnant and nursing females. SPAY/NEUTER: Unless you plan to breed professionally, you should have your puppy spayed (female) or castrated (male) at an appropriate age. We prefer waiting as long as possible (1.5 year-2 years old) so your puppy has a chance to mature. There are several important medical advantages to neutering. Millions of dogs & cats are euthanized each year in this country simply because there are no homes for them. Owning a breeding bitch or stud is a time & money consuming occupation. FOR REFERENCE, THIS IS THE SCHEDULE WE FOLLOW FOR OUR DOGS & PUPPIES, AS RECOMMENDED BY OUR VETERINARIAN. HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR VET'S INSTRUCTIONS.

  • ABOUT EEVEE
Eevee loves everybody & is very good with other dogs. She is attentive & eager to love you with all of her heart (& with all of the wet kisses). Eevee is high-drive but medium energy. She will play fetch for hours with undivided focus but she will happily lounge on the couch or at your feet. She is confident but is very coy in a submissive, cute way. She smiles once she is comfortable with you. Eevee does perfectly around the house, in the fenced yard, in her kennel, on leash, off leash, in public, or by herself. She would prefer to always be near-by with her classic aussie personality. She is agile & fast. She also is the most sweet & cuddly. Her coat is straight & stays very clean. Eevee prefers to be very clean... for example.... She will go swimming if we are swimming... high reward. If the dogs are swimming, she would rather stay dry & clean & has learned that gets her more pets because everyone else is dirty. She is so smart & learns very quickly. She is very intuitive & loves to make her people happy in every thing she can. Good with kids? We have never had kids younger than 8 nearby. She is generally very friendly but may need some confidence in not hiding from loud, fast, small children. Does she bark? Not very often at all. Usually when something is out of place or if she really needs your attention Dominant or submissive? She is very socially aware with other dogs. She is confident with other dogs. Will stand her ground, but has never started, instigated, or furthered any fights or rumbles here. She stays out of drama. Energetic? high drive or couch potato? High energy, medium drive. Great "off-switch" Does she stay inside or outside more? She sleeps in her crate for 8-9 hrs per night. She is inside & outside equally throughout the day. We have a doggie door. Housebroken? Yes Crate trained? Yes Does she have any training or basic obedience? We practice dog psychology & our dogs are very well behaved & have very good manners. They know things like "sit" "no" "wait" "down" "come" but they could use some "lay down" or "stay" refreshers Does she know her name? Good at recall? She knows & picked her name. She responds without fail & comes every time. We use their names to call them into or out of doors & spaces individually, so they use their name very often. Friendly, shy or unsocialized? friendly but coy. Likes to check you out first, but will do so eagerly & respectfully. Any behavioral issues or concerns? none at all. Eevee would do well in any active home that has love & time to spend with this amazing girl.

If you are interested in adopting one of my retirees someday, please feel free to apply & let us know you are considering an adult & we will reach out once we are considering retirement homes. We try to post approximately 6 months before rehoming to give everyone time to consider their needs & to give us time to consider each application so we can find the best fit for that particular dog's personality. If we believe you could be a good match, we will reach out to make sure you are still interested & to get a small deposit to show your seriousness & schedule a time for you to come meet them & us.

  • ABOUT PLUTO
Meet Pluto! He is an 2 year old Australian Shepherd (dob 5/11/23) with a naturally long tail & 2 blue eyes. He weighs 65 lbs & is 22" tall to his shoulder. He is neutered, up to date on shots & vet care. He is from Moxxi & Spartan's first pairing with Silverside Aussies. He will come with AKC & ASDR applications for LIMITED registration. Photo album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/JMpL2vWxvs1LHmZp6 Pluto's owners are undergoing an international move & are unable to take Pluto with them. In addition to the move, they have also been experiencing some concerning behavioral changes. Pluto has become increasingly reactive, particularly around adults, and they are growing more concerned about his behavior around their two young children. While they’ve done their best to work with him and create a safe environment, they are now genuinely worried that he might eventually snap or react unpredictably, especially as the household gets more stressful during the move. More about his personality: Pluto is a very smart dog, hyper, loyal if you earn his trust, skittish, reactive, and anxious. Good with kids? Yes, but he plays rough. Snips at their ankles and arms when they are running around. Good with dogs? Yes, but he plays rough. He bites at their necks and has drawn blood before. How much do they bark? Not much Dominant or submissive? a little bit of both. Energetic? high drive or couch potato? Very Energetic Do they stay inside or outside more? stay inside more, but has a good amount of outside time. Housebroken? Yes Crate trained? Yes Doggie door? No Stay in the yard or a kennel? Kennel Do they have any training or basic obedience? Basic obedience training Do they know their name? Good at recall? Yes Friendly, shy or unsocialized? Can be social in certain environments. Additional comments from owner: Pluto's behavioral issues started a few months ago. I would say he was about 1.5 years old and he is 2 now and it is getting worse. I will provide a few examples: 1. A family member came to visit and Pluto has met the family member a few times before. The family member was playing hide and seek with our children and the kids found the family member and there was laughing and high energy and Pluto got involved and bit the family member in the leg. This happened in our home. 2. We were taking Pluto on a walk and a group of older kids were riding their bikes and scooters in the area and Pluto started barking uncontrollably, his hair was starting up on his back, he was showing his teeth towards them and trying to run to them. 3. We were on a walk and stopped to talk to a friend. Pluto was fine at first, the friend reached their hand down slowly so Pluto could smell it and Pluto's first reaction was to bite it. He did not get it because the friend pulled away quickly enough.

  • ABOUT INDIE
Indie has never, ever met anyone who she considers a stranger & loves everybody. She is on the shorter side, but is very bulky & pushes her weight around. Indie is medium-drive & medium-high energy. She is goofy & clumsy but absolutely gives her all & will play fetch or go on any adventure with you. INDIE LOVES WATER!!! We have a 40g water bowl because it is really just her personal swimming pool. She will dive in headfirst every time. She is also a trash can & will happily help you clean up any leftovers you have on hand. She will lounge on the couch & is the best cuddle buddy because she loves to touch me, but doesn't smoosh me & is respectable of my space... except for toes. Indie likes to enter doors quickly & seems to go out of her way to stomp on our toes every time. She is respectful of personal space at all other times usually. She is confident but sometimes that can be too confident for other female dogs. Indie also does not know a stranger dog, which means she sometimes misses their social cues, which makes them uncomfortable. Indie would do best with male dogs & submissive females because although she is not aggressive, but also won't be pushed around either. Indie does really good around the house, but when she needs to go, she needs to go, so she may need a refresher in housetraining if being exclusively inside. She uses the doggie door, has access to a fenced yard, is great in her kennel, on leash (initial pulling, but settles quickly), off leash, in public, or by herself. She would prefer to always be near-by with her classic aussie personality. Her coat is wavy & stays very clean. Good with kids? We have never had kids younger than 8 nearby. She is generally very, very friendly. Does she bark? Indie sounds like a squeaky porch door more than she barks. She does alert bark, but its very easily managed & she give you the "look of shame" Dominant or submissive? She is confident with other dogs. Will stand her ground & can be pushy in a "doesn't know her own space" kinda way. like a bull in a china shop. Energetic? high drive or couch potato? High energy, medium drive. Great "off-switch". Does happy, bouncy circles when she is excited, usually before going in & out of doors, hence why she steps on toes 🤣 Does she stay inside or outside more? She sleeps in her crate for 8-9 hrs per night. She is inside & outside equally throughout the day. We have a doggie door. Crate trained? Yes. Housebroken? Yes, may need refresher because we go outside often or have the doggie door Does she have any training or basic obedience? We practice dog psychology & our dogs are very well behaved & have very good manners. They know things like "sit" "no" "wait" "down" "come" but they could use some "lay down" or "stay" refreshers Does she know her name? Good at recall? She knows & picked her name. She responds without fail & comes every time. We use their names to call them into or out of doors & spaces individually, so they use their name very often. Friendly, shy or unsocialized? Very friendly, can be almost too friendly & intrusive, but is generally very respectful. Any behavioral issues or concerns? none at all. Indie would do well in any active home that has love & time to spend with this amazing girl.

  • ABOUT D.VA
D.va ("Diva") enjoys lazy days by the water or lounging on the couch watching TV. She enjoys deep conversation & seems to understand every word. She's a gentle giant with a big, goofy, loveable, cuddle-bug personality. While she is more than happy to entertain herself, she is a velcro dog & will go & do anything you want to do. She loves swimming & does play fetch.
  • ABOUT ECHO
Echo is one-of-a-kind. She is smart, determined, and always good natured. She is amazing at puzzles and will watch your every move to make sure we are never lonely. She is perfectly healthy. She is a bit more nervous than the others but is an amazing dog. She loves attention and lounging around. She is very observant and learns from watching too. She does know a few tricks and is house and kennel trained. She is good with dogs that she knows, but it takes her some time to warm up to stranger dogs. She is also good with people. We have older children and she has never had any issues with them but she has never been around little kids so not sure about that, but I think she would do wonderful where ever she has love. Echo loves swimming and is "OK" with fetch, but is not the most driven. We take both on and off leash walks and she does amazing with both. Excellent recall skills and very velcro. Her hair is generally very soft and fluffy but shorter than some aussies.

Mercy does not let anything bother her. She is so completely unfazed by anything unless her people need something. She loves attention and lounging around. We walk on and off leash and she always does amazing. Very good recall. She LOVES water. She is a bit vocal when she is excited and whines to get your attention some times. She does know a few tricks and is house and kennel trained. She is good with meeting new dogs and does so very confidently like she doesn't even know they are there. She is also good with people. We have older children and she has never had any issues with them but she has never been around little kids so not sure about that however Mercy is just all about love regardless of who is loving her.

  • ABOUT PEPPER
Pepper is a cuddle bug. She loves attention and doing whatever her people are doing EXCEPT SWIMMING. She does not like water but she does ok with baths. She will let touch or do whatever you want to her with no fight (except water again). She is friendly with dogs, and loves people and kids, but does alert bark and takes a minute or two to warm up to them, but no aggression at all, just barking. She is a great watch dog and only really barks if someone new is around. She is vocal and does whine but also knows what "be quite" or "enough" means. She is a bit hyper at first but does settle down quickly. But she is always waiting to be loved. She is 100% crate and house broken. She is a super clean dog and does not like getting dirty (which is why she doesn't like water). She does shed twice per year but her hair is really straight and easy to maintain.
  • ABOUT TRACER
Tracer's favorite activities include fetch, swimming, and especially playing fetch while swimming. She loves adventures & gets so excited when she hears her leash jingling. She is good with older kids but we have not had babies around in a long time so unsure how she would be with littles. She is dog friendly but would do best with a male companion or a submissive female. Tracer is more of a dominant personality & does not like to be pushed around by other females. She is great with puppies & plays super well with them. Tracer does occasionally submissive pee when being corrected so we don't correct with stern voices & try to keep it fun 😅
