⭐ ROUTINE, PREVENTATIVE CARE:

• Purina Pro Plan with prebiotics & probiotics (no soy, peas, or legumes) to promote healthy heat cycles
• Fish Oil daily for shiny, smooth coats
• Shredded (cooked) meat every few days for improved digestion
• Simparica Trio monthly for heartworm, flea, & tick prevention
• Breed-to-Wean prenatal vitamins, probiotics, & daily weight tracking during pregnancy & prescription dewormer.
• VET EXAM & VACCINATIONS ANNUALLY!! Puppies receive maternally derived antibodies (MDAs) from their mother's milk/colostrum if she is properly vaccinated, providing temporary immunity to newborn puppies while their immune systems are still developing which means annual Vet exams & vaccines for breeding dogs are an essential practice & should be standard for any ethical breeder. Silverside Aussies are examined & vaccinated annually by a USDA-certified state-licensed Veterinarian to protect against Distemper, Parvo, Lepto, Bordetella, Rabies, & tested for Heartworms & internal/external parasites.

🤎 PERSONALITY

Ivy is a pretty special girl around here - not only because of her wonderfully calm, steady personality, but because she's our very first red bi at Silverside. 🤎 With her rich red coat, crisp white markings, and no tan or copper points, she has a look that's a little different from the reds we've had before. Add in her amber and blue eyes, and this girl definitely knows how to catch your eye. But honestly, it's her personality that made us fall in love with her.

 

Ivy has one of those personalities that makes you notice her without her ever asking to be noticed. She's calm, steady, and incredibly sweet, with a quiet confidence that we absolutely love in an Australian Shepherd. She's not the dog bouncing off the walls trying to be the center of attention. Instead, Ivy simply settles in beside you and seems perfectly content to be wherever her people are.

 

And then there's her favorite little trick. When you reach down to pet her, Ivy doesn't just stand there and wait for you to find her. She does this ridiculously cute little "parallel parking" maneuver, swinging her rear end around until she's lined up perfectly beside you for pets. 😂 It's almost as if she's saying, "Yep, right here. This is the spot. Go ahead." It's such a small thing, but it perfectly captures Ivy's personality. She's affectionate without being pushy, attentive without being demanding, and happiest when she's quietly connected to her people.

 

If we had to describe Ivy in three words, they'd be calm, steady, and sweet.

 

🌟 WHY WE CHOSE IVY

When we're considering a dog for our breeding program, beautiful coloring is never enough. We want the whole dog. We look for health, structure, pedigree, temperament, intelligence, and that intangible quality that makes a dog genuinely wonderful to live with every day.

 

Ivy brings that combination beautifully. Her calm, steady nature is one of the things we love most about her. She has a softness about her without being timid, and a quiet confidence that makes her easy to enjoy. She's the kind of dog who doesn't need to constantly be doing something to be happy. She can simply be with you. And that's something we value tremendously.

 

Australian Shepherds are an incredibly versatile breed, but we believe that versatility starts with a dog who can settle, connect, and confidently navigate everyday life with their family. That's Ivy.

 

🎓 INTELLIGENCE & TRAINABILITY

Ivy's steady nature gives her a wonderful foundation for learning & we're so excited to build on her foundation to earn her AKC Trick Dog & Home Manner titles.  She's attentive to her people and naturally interested in what they're doing, but without that frantic need to constantly be "on." That balance is something we really appreciate.

 

We want our dogs to be capable of learning and working when asked, but equally capable of turning it off and simply hanging out with the family afterward. Ivy has that Aussie off-switch we value so much. She's thoughtful, people-focused, and wonderfully easy to enjoy - whether she's learning something new or simply parking herself beside you for a good round of scratches.

 

🧬 HEALTH & PEDIGREE

Behind Ivy's wonderful temperament is an equally impressive foundation.  Ivy comes from the Freestyle line, with Freestyles Lickety-Split as her sire and Freestyles Shez Rockin Hot as her dam. Her pedigree represents generations of Australian Shepherds selected for the qualities that make this breed so special.

 

Like every Silverside breeding dog, she completed comprehensive health testing, including CHIC certification, OFA evaluations, board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist eye examinations, cardiac screening, and extensive DNA testing covering more than 270 genetic health conditions and traits.

 

Her hips received an Excellent rating, and she has passed all of her required OFA evaluations. Health testing is a huge part of what we do at Silverside. We don't want to guess about the dogs we're building our future around - we want to know them as thoroughly as we can. Ivy has now given us that additional piece of confidence as we continue watching her grow into her role here.

 

Her pedigree represents generations of thoughtfully bred Australian Shepherds selected for health, structure, temperament, and versatility. While we're grateful for those generations, we've always believed that pedigrees don't raise puppies... Great dogs do.

 

🐶 IVY'S FUTURE AT SILVERSIDE

Every dog we choose for our program brings something a little different to the table. Spartan gave us that incredible calm, dependable, velcro-dog temperament. Ivy brings her own version of that same steadiness - softer, sweeter, and with a healthy dose of "please pet my butt, thank you very much." 😂

 

We're excited to see what she contributes to the next generation of Silverside Aussies. Because ultimately, we're not looking for dogs who are simply beautiful on paper. We're looking for dogs we genuinely love living with. And Ivy is very easy to love. 🤎
